At the Cheshire Bowel Clinic we are able to investigate and manage most bowel symptoms. Our clinical review starts with telephone health screening with one of our advanced clinical practitioners to understand both your symptoms and your health. You will then be seen by one of our consultant specialists. We offer a number of appointments across the week and will aim to see you within seven days of contacting us.
Our doctors will take a medical history, conduct a clinical examination, and make some initial recommendations, which will often include some tests. The most common investigations are blood tests, stool tests, and endoscopic examination of the gut with either a flexible sigmoidoscopy, gastroscopy, or colonoscopy. You will be seen again with the results of the tests for a treatment plan. If needed you will also have the opportunity to see other members of the team, for example our specialist dietitian.
Our colorectal surgeons also undertake a range of general surgery and colorectal operations, including surgical treatment of hernia, haemorrhoids (piles), and other problems around the bottom. If you have health insurance, this would normally all be covered by your provider. If you pay for your own treatment, we have created ‘packages’ of consultations and investigations to make accessing our services cost-effective. Please contact us for more details.
