FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
What is Barre?
Barre is a low-impact, full-body workout that combines elements of ballet, Pilates, and strength training. It focuses on small, controlled movements to
tone muscles, improve posture, increase flexibility and build core strength.
Do I need ballet or dance experience to try Barre?
Not at all! Barre is suitable for everyone, regardless of experience. Our classes are designed to be accessible, with clear guidance and options for all fitness levels.
Is Barre suitable for beginners?
Absolutely. We welcome all levels, and our instructors offer modifications and progressions to ensure everyone feels supported and challenged in the right way.
What should I wear or bring to a Barre class?
Wear comfortable, stretchy workout clothes that you can move easily in. Grippy socks are ideal (though barefoot is also okay). We provide all equipment, but you’re welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.
How is your Barre approach different?
Our classes are led by a qualified physiotherapist and rooted in intelligent, functional movement. We blend the precision of physiotherapy with the energy of barre, ensuring safe, effective workouts that support strength, posture, and injury prevention.
Will barre help with posture or back pain?
Yes! Our barre classes are designed to strengthen deep postural muscles, improve alignment, and enhance core stability—all key components in reducing back pain and improving posture. As a physio-led studio, we’re extra mindful of how you move?
Is Barre a cardio workout?
Yes—but in a sneaky way! While barre isn’t high-impact, the small movements and time under tension elevate your heart rate, build endurance, and leave you feeling energised.
How often shall I come to see the results?
Posture, and strength after 2–3 sessions per week.
Consistency is key—but even once a week will make a difference!
Do you offer private or small group sessions?
Yes! We offer 1:1 sessions and small group classes for those who prefer a more personalised approach.
Perfect for injury rehab, pregnancy, or building confidence before joining a group class.
Can I do barre if I’m pregnant?
We offer safe modifications for pregnancy and postnatal clients. Because our classes are physio-informed, we can help you move in a way that supports your changing body and recovery. Please speak to us before class, so we can tailor your experience.

a year agoI can't rate BBB highly enough. I've been a member for nearly 4 years now and I'm totally hooked. The classes are varied, challenging and fun, led by experienced instructors who always know how to encourage and inspire you. What I love most though is the community they have built. It is warm, friendly and welcoming - unlike any other class or gym I've ever been to (and I've been to a LOT!) The only downside - trying to walk gracefully down those stairs when my legs feel like jelly!!!

a year agoI came here after a lower back injury causing sciatica in the hopes it will help. Not only has my pain gone completely, I have quickly built a lot of strength and all my body and I have never felt so good! The first class was hard and a shock to the system but I love the challenge, there are alternatives options when I’m struggling too much. The instructors clearly have a wide breadth of knowledge, I have done 3 different classes with 5 different women who all offer a variety of fun, interesting exercises in a variety of classes. The studio is beautiful, the teachers are kind and encouraging and the people who attend make it a warm nice place to come. I’m honestly blown away and never want to leave, thank you so much for all you’ve done for me!

a year agoA real hidden gem. There is something special about this place and thats because it isn't like any other gym or fitness place. It is a beautiful community of people who get together and not only share fitness goals, but also meet informally and experience many of the wonderful events and retreats on offer all year round. The instructors are 10/10 and really care about the students and are exceptionally dedicated and motivated. I absolutely love this place and it is my little haven and pick me up when I need to get in some exercise, have a natter, and just feel positive and perky once again. There are many classes on offer throughout the day right from 7am to 9pm most days. I have tried other gyms before and they just dont hit the mark. These instructor led classes are much more focused in strengthening, conditioning and increasing mobility at all ages. Well done Michyla !
